Reggaeton

Origin: 90s of the 20th century in Puerto Rico.

Representative artists and groups: Daddy Jankee, Maluma, Karol G, Bad Bunny, Calle 13.

It is based on the same beats and rhythms as reggae, but its melodies and compositions are influenced by hip hop and other western rhythms. Very energetic and with catchy choruses, it is also linked to a type of dance.

Ranchera

Origin: early 19th century in the State of Jalisco, Mexico, from where it spread the country.

Representative artists and groups: Vicente Fernández, Jorge Negrete, Pedro Infante, Rocío Durcal.

Musical genre of Mexican folklore by excellence. Its melodies, composed at different tempos, are usually performed by mariachis. This figure, who performs the compositions in a group and is related to a typical regional costume.

As instruments, the most used are the guitar (different types), the violin, the trumpet, the harp and the accordion.

K-pop

Is a subgenre of pop that is referred to as originating in South Korea. It is short for Korean Popular Music. This genre is the fusion of pop and electronics with more modern genres and the result is very lively and full of energy.

The best known groups are: BTS, BlackPink, Girls Generation and ITZY.

                 Rock

Origin: 50's of the 20th century in the USA.

Representative artists and groups: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Oasis, Queen, Led Zeppelin.

It derives from rock and roll, although with simpler lyrics and a slower rhythm than its predecessor. The compositions are more complex. Its history is marked by emblematic groups of international success.

The predominant instruments are electric guitar, bass and drums
